The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 324

Chapter 324:.

“Why are you suddenly talking about this?”. Hayden finally asked after a while.

She didn’t know what kind of emotional roller coaster Joseph had experienced before seeing her in the hospital. This previously indifferent man was being incredibly patient in front of her and was trying to bring their stumbling relationship back to a stable state.

Staring at her, Joseph said, “What would you say to me if I didn’t tell you that, that I would want to end our relationship?”

Hayden didn’t know what to answer.

Actually, he was right. If something bad came up between them, his first response would always be to back off. Cutting her losses early was the most important rule in her life, and she had been following it for twenty years.

He came to weigh pros and cons. Between two sons and Joseph, he would certainly choose the former.

Between her career and Joseph, she would also choose the former.

If in the future these choices included family and friends, she would still choose the former without hesitation.

In her life, Joseph was the love that would always be the last to consider.

But what was the reason for all this?

After hesitating for a while, Hayden finally said, “Well, the truth may be hard to hear, but we have to face it as reality. Cheating on yourself is sometimes good, but for me, Stella, family and friends are much more important than a lover, just like you can’t compare Noah to me. I can only say I’m sorry if this bothers you, but don’t force me to make decisions like this. It doesn’t make sense.”

“What if I don’t care?” Looking at her, Joseph’s expression didn’t change.

Before trying to initiate this conversation, he had prepared himself for anything. Deep down he knew clearly what kind of person Hayden was.

The rule that was once unbreakable for him seemed meaningless in front of Hayden.

Hayden paused and even became a little nervous, “What…what are you talking about?”

“I don’t mind taking last place, I’m content to be a part of your life.” He seemed distant, just like when he helped her in the elevator when they first met.

Staring at her, Joseph waited for her answer.

When you love someone, any rule you found unassailable could be broken. But there was only one thing one can’t compromise, you have to be a part of their life.

“Okay, I get it.”

Hayden finally felt that her cold hands and feet had turned warm. She was warm inside, too.

She didn’t care what kind of problems they’d had before. At least now she was sure that to Joseph, she was really important.

“Really?” Joseph asked.

“Yes.”

“Come then.” Joseph said quietly.

Hayden stopped for a moment and walked over to Joseph. She was immediately hugged by Joseph which made her incredibly happy in this frigid winter.

Joseph got the call from Magnus three days later when he just brought Hayden to the company. “Mr. Beckham, I’ve brought you back.”

Pulling all his connections, Magnus finally brought Leon back after three days of travel.

“Bring him to the warehouse in the western suburbs.” Hanging up the phone, Joseph stepped on the gas and drove to the western suburbs.

Although Hayden said nothing about what happened that day, the hotel room surveillance camera clearly showed that Leon took her to a hotel room. She then left the room after a while, so Leon must know everything.

The warehouse in the western suburb had been abandoned for a long time and was filled with some random ST Group items. There was also a dark, dank basement.

The man lying in the corner suddenly woke up after a bucket of cold water was poured on him.noveldrama

“Who are you?” Leon recoiled in fright and shaking violently.

There were two thugs dressed in black in front of him. One of them carried a bucket of water and the other a taser.

“Who are we?” The man holding the bucket of water sneered and laughed loudly, “We’re your nightmare.”

“How much do you want? I’ll give you all of it. Did Alfred send you? I’ve paid my debt!”.

“Alfred?” Holding the taser, the man crouched before him and poked him in the waist, “Who’s Alfred?”

Leon shouted in fright, “If you’re not from Alfred, why are you doing this to me? I don’t know you.”

“Well, some things you can’t pay for with money.” The man then threw the bucket and made a loud noise.

Then the basement door opened and a man appeared wearing a pair of shiny shoes.

Looking up frantically, Leon’s face immediately paled as he saw who approached.

“You…”

Standing in front of him, Joseph looked at him as if he were a little ant. “Wow, you look like you know me.”

Leon shuddered, “Joseph Beckham, the former president of the ST Group – who wouldn’t know you?”

One of the goons had already pulled a clean chair over to Joseph. Joseph waved his hands and said nothing.

Looking at the two thugs, Magnus said, “Get out, I’ll take care of this.

Okay.” The two goons nodded and said, “Let us know when you need us.”

“Okay.”

The basement door closed again. In the gloom, their shadows seemed to dance.

“Do you know why you’re here?” Crouching before Leon, Magnus pulled hard on the ropes that wrapped around him.

Gritting his teeth, Leon said, “I don’t know, but kidnapping is illegal.”

“In N-City, the Beckhams are the law.” Looking at him coldly, Magnus said, “I brought you from Melbourne, didn’t I? You think I’d be afraid of that? I’d advise you to tell us everything.”

“I don’t know, I haven’t done anything.”

Leon’s face had turned blue from the cold.

Since it was summer in Melbourne, when he was kidnapped he was wearing only a short-sleeved shirt and jeans. So his body was literally numb from the cold.

“Didn’t you send the email?”. Magnus stared at him, “What happened that night?”.

Leon’s heart skipped a beat and he was getting nervous.

Remembering Franklin’s threat, he gritted his teeth and said, “I don’t know anything.”

Seeing that he was trying to lie, Magnus stood up coldly and pointed to the chair next to him.

“You know what this is, don’t you? Well, I can tell you how it works. I’ll hold your body to this chair and pour water over it. Then you’ll be electrocuted and then you’ll freeze. So, can you guess how long a person’s leg can survive in sub-zero temperatures?”.
