The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 323

Chapter 323:

As he said that, the doctor handed him a white handkerchief. “It’s clean, I haven’t used it.”

Taking the handkerchief, Hayden said thank you and wiped his face. Then he explained, “No, I’m just volunteering.”

“But you’re pretty good at this. Are you a medical student or…?”.

Hayden looked quite young, she was wearing a pink gown and a ponytail, so she looked like a student.

At her words, Hayden shook his head and shook his head and denied, “I’m not a medical student.”

“I don’t think so.” The doctor’s eyes lit up, “You must be a medical student. Judging by the way you assessed the patient’s traumatic state, I’m one hundred percent sure you’re a medical student. What hospital are you in? We’re all saving lives here.”

“I’m really not.” Hayden became distressed. “By now all the injured from the accident should be here, I should be going now.”

Suddenly, the doctor got out of the car and asked Hayden, “Can I have your phone number?”

Before Hayden could answer his question, the doctor heard a deep voice, “Hayden, I’ve been looking all over for you, let’s go home.”

The doctor stopped and saw an attractive figure who was taller than him.

He even felt intimidated by Joseph.

The doctor got angry and walked away.

Standing next to the ambulance, Hayden suddenly became nervous the moment she saw Joseph.

She really hadn’t expected Joseph to be here.

“What are you doing here?”

Joseph walked toward her, but didn’t explain much, “Let’s go home so you can change your clothes. We can talk about this after dinner.”

Looking at the blood stains on her clothes, Hayden nodded.

Neither of them mentioned the fight at the hotel this morning and they remained silent in the cab.

Returning home, Hayden went straight into the bathroom. The pink robe smelled of hospital disinfectant and blood.

Concentrating under the stream of water, Hayden was distracted from everything else.noveldrama

He supposed Joseph must want to talk about everything that had happened at the hotel. After all, he had said he was the one who would decide when they would be done.

After showering, Hayden stepped out of the room and immediately caught the smell of food.

There was a feast on the dining room table.

“Let’s have dinner first.”

He brought two bowls to the table, and Joseph grabbed a bowl of soup for Hayden.

Hayden was quite confused and looked at the clock on the wall. “It’s already 12 o’clock. Are we going to eat at this time?”.

“Eat.” Handing her the silverware, Joseph asked, “Have you eaten dinner?”

Shaking his head, Hayden drank the soup in silence. Then he asked, “How do you know?”

“Anna told me.”

“How come she told you everything?”. Hayden frowned, “What else did she tell you?”.

“She also told me that the woman who died in the ER wasn’t you.”

Hayden paused slightly and looked up slowly.

The light in the kitchen was quite dim. What’s more, Joseph had been ducking his head the whole time. He didn’t even notice that his eyes were bloodshot like someone who had been up all night.

“What happened?” Hayden was quite confused and wondered why he would be in the hospital.

Joseph took a deep breath, “Eat first, we can have this conversation later.”

“Talk about what?” Hayden snapped nervously.

About the breakup?

“About what happened before we met, about everything between us. Everything will work out if we can have an honest conversation.”

“And if we can’t?” Hayden sat up straight and stared at him. He hesitated a little and asked, “Then we’ll break up?”

She sensed that Joseph was strangely quiet, which scared the hell out of her.

Joseph frowned at Hayden’s question. He then forced himself to lower the anger in his eyes.

“Just eat first.” The breakup was the last thing he’d want to talk to her about.

“I’m not hungry.” Hayden frowned and insisted on listening to her words. Then her belly growled amid the silence and she coughed awkwardly.

Looking down at her, Joseph handed her a bowl of rice and said, “Just eat.”

Hayden then let out a sigh. Since he hadn’t eaten lunch and had gotten into a fight with Franklin on the golf course, he was already hungry.

So he ate it all quickly.

After rubbing his belly, Hayden said satisfactorily, “Okay, I’m full now. What do you want to tell me? Go ahead.”

Looking at her, Joseph said, “You probably know that, if I want to know something, I can get the information without asking you directly.”

His condescending attitude made Hayden quite uncomfortable.

“But you know, I don’t want to snoop through your stuff.”

Hayden was taken aback by his words. She then looked at him.

“As far as I’m concerned, I’d rather you be the one who can share your stuff with me yourself. If you don’t want me to know, I won’t look into it. What’s more, there are things I won’t be able to know, even if I try.”

Pinching her fingers tightly, Hayden suddenly felt nervous.

“Have you come to love other men? How much do you care about me? How come, when something goes wrong, the first thing you think of is abandoning our relationship? Those are things I really can’t know.”

Sitting across from her, Joseph’s face was as cold as ever. But now, it looked like something had cracked in his eyes.

That crack was the true love in his life and it was a weak spot he was willing to expose.

“You asked me what I want to talk to you about, but I guess you were thinking of breaking us up. But that’s exactly the last thing I’m going to consider.”

Staring blankly at Joseph, Hayden didn’t know what to say.
