When Love Is a Lie (Whitney and Damian)

Chapter 257 Mrs. Howard, We're Really Married!

Without turning, Whitney knew who it was. She turned quickly and gently pushed Noel. "You're going to hurt the baby."

"I'm not doing anything. I just want to hold you." His deep, magnetic voice filled the darkness around her.

Trapped in Noel's warm embrace, Whitney stopped trying to push him away. She shifted to a more comfortable position, snuggling into his arms.

But soon, she sensed something was wrong. At some point, Noel's hand slipped under her nightgown, brushing her skin lightly.

"You said you wouldn't do anything," Whitney said, pressing his hand away.

"I'm not doing anything. I just want to kiss you."

Whitney was about to say something, but before she could, his lips met hers. The kiss was tender, soft, and utterly overwhelming.

He was wearing a shirt, but she could feel the warmth of his chest through the thin fabric.noveldrama

Whitney found it hard to resist. If this continued, she feared they might end up doing something they'd both regret.

Just as she was about to pull away, Noel immediately released her, his dark eyes revealing a hint of restrained desire.

"After the baby's born, I'll want you to make it up to me," he murmured.

"Make up for what?" she asked, confused.

Noel smirked and leaned down, whispering something in her ear. Whitney's face immediately flushed with embarrassment. Fortunately, the lights were off, or she would have buried her face in shame. "You should go now. I need to get some sleep." She gently pushed him away, urging him to leave the bed.

Noel chuckled softly and stopped teasing her. "Tomorrow, we're going to the Spencer residence."

While she was in the hospital, Westley had tried visiting her several times, but Noel's bodyguards had stopped him at the door. He couldn't stand anyone who had hurt her, even if it were her father. Whitney was surprised. "Why are we going there?"

"To get your birth certification and get married."

...

The next day, they went back to the Spencer residence.

When Westley saw that Whitney had come to collect her birth certificate and noticed Noel standing by her side, he immediately realized what was happening and got excited.

"Are you two getting married? When? Oh, I'm so happy!" Westley exclaimed as he hurried over to hug Whitney.

Whitney took a step back, her expression cold. "My life is none of your business. As for the wedding, I don't want you there." "What? I'm your father! How can I not be there for your wedding? What will others think?" Westley snapped, raising his hand.

He was about to slap Whitney, but the instant Noel's cold gaze met his, he slowly lowered his hand.

"Is this how a father should act?" Whitney said coldly, her gaze locked on him "The only thing I regret now is that we're still related by blood.

From now on, you're on your own."

With that, Whitney glanced at Noel. They turned to leave together, leaving Westley slumped on the couch, lost in a daze.

...

After leaving the courthouse, Whitney stared at the marriage certificate in her hand, lost in thought.

She had once been conflicted about her future, mentally preparing to raise a child alone. Yet here she was, holding a marriage certificate just half a month later. "What are you daydreaming about?" Noel's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

She looked up, her eyes red and filled with disbelief. "Did we really get married?"

Noel smiled, ruffling her hair. "Mrs. Howard, we really did get married."

Tears welled up in Whitney's eyes, and she couldn't stop them from falling. She never expected happiness to arrive so quickly.

Not just happiness, but everything was falling into place. After a month of hard work, Whitney had finalized the design plan for Seabourke University Library. Drawing inspiration from Seabourke University's history and Seabourke's cultural heritage, Whitney designed the library's exterior based on ancient script.

She also conducted surveys to understand the students' needs and, with a focus on user experience, created an ideal internal structure with smart functionality. Her design quickly caught everyone's attention, and as the project's client, Noel had final approval.

Knowing how seriously he took his work, Whitney was sure he wouldn't show her favoritism just because she was his wife. If she won the project, it would be entirely because of her capabilities.

The construction began at

Seabourke University after the

design was finalized, with Whitney taking on the role of project

manager. She often visited the

university to communicate with the

construction team.

While she was discussing the blueprints with the construction manager, someone called her from behind. "Whitney."
