My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 33

Willow felt discomfort in her heart. It made her feel suffocated and short of breath.

She had always explained to the children that they didn't have a father and that she had given birth to them all by herself.

She believed they were too young to understand and that they would trust her every word. But she never imagined that they had secretly longed for their father all this time and had even organized a group to look for him. So, that must be the reason they went to Hughes Corporation.

Willow couldn't blame them; she couldn't bring herself to. It was her own fault that her four precious children had never experienced a father's love from a young age.

But when she thought back to the man who had forcefully taken her five years ago, she was filled with anger and hatred.

She wanted to settle the score with him, but where could she even start looking for him?

When she met Jasper, she noticed the resemblance between him and Tristan and Julian. Tristan's eyes were so much like Jasper's, while Julian's lips and nose resembled Jasper's. But the man couldn't possibly be their father.

He was the CEO of Hughes Corporation. He always frequented upscale places. Why would he have visited a remote, backward village? Back then, the man had fallen from a helicopter and was covered in injuries. Willow guessed that he was either a criminal or a soldier. Jasper was a businessman, so there was no way he could have been injured in aerial combat and fallen from the sky into her life.

Tristan and Julian resembled him a bit, but it was probably just a coincidence.

With a tender smile on her lips, Willow gently stroked the back of Julian's head.

Under his expectant gaze, she said, "Julian, Jasper is not your daddy. Mommy still doesn't know who your daddy is. When I find out, I promise I'll tell you right away, okay?" Julian sobbed as tears welled up in his eyes again. His long eyelashes covered his eyes as he looked down, concealing the overwhelming sense of loss that filled his gaze. So, Jasper really wasn't their dad.

How sad!

Tristan hadn't shed any tears the entire time. But when he heard Willow say that Jasper wasn't their father, his eyes suddenly grew hot as tears pooled in his eyes. He bit his lip and trembled slightly. He tried to hold back the tears, but they fell despite his efforts.noveldrama

Tristan was the eldest. He was usually the most sensible and hardly ever cried. However, now he couldn't hold back the tears. He had been the one to organize the search for their father. He had even researched a lot of information about Jasper online, firmly believing that he was their father.

But upon hearing Willow deny it in person, Tristan's conviction crumbled instantly.

Willow turned to see Tristan crying, and she was taken aback.

She asked cautiously, "Tris, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing!" Tristan replied.

He left his mother's embrace and shuffled to his room. He closed the door behind him.

As soon as the door closed, his tears surged uncontrollably, and he even began to sob. Yet, he desperately held back, not allowing himself to cry out loud.

Tristan's behavior was unusual, and it worried Willow. Rachel also noticed Tristan's distress and exchanged a glance with Willow, seeing the concern in her eyes.

She gestured towards the closed door, asking if she should check on him.

Willow shook her head, indicating that it wasn't necessary. Tristan was always responsible and more mature than kids his age. He had entered the room quickly to avoid letting others see him cry.
